Japanese Confectionery (Wagashi) Making Workshop

On June 21st, we held a Japanese confectionery (wagashi) making workshop at the Tokoname Central Community Center’s kitchen, primarily organized for members of the Tokotoko Japanese Language Club. The event was a huge success, drawing over 50 participants of all ages and from various countries, as well as local Tokoname residents. The participants were divided into six groups, where they competed to create the most impressive wagashi. Each group’s representative gave a presentation to showcase their strategy and concept. The winning team was highly praised by our instructor, Mr. Koie, professional Japanese confectioner.
